About our grants.

I submitted an application/nomination in 2023. When will the organization be notified about grant status?

All 2023 nominations and application reviews are on hold until 2024. We are working on exciting updates to our Feed It Forward program in order to continue expanding our support of these life changing organizations, but applications and nominations will still be accepted in the meantime. All applications and nominations collected in 2023 will be reviewed when the program relaunches in 2024. Stay tuned for more news to come in the new year!

Spring grant applications are due June 30, and grant recipients are chosen by September. We will feature recipients and their stories in our web and social presence. Recipients may also be featured in our national Nutrena brand advertising.

How do we evaluate organizations?

Feed It Forward will fund only registered U.S. nonprofit, nongovernmental, civic or educational organizations with 501(c)(3) status or a comparable fiscal sponsor. Selected organizations must have clear objectives for the grant funds, indicators of success, and a plan to measure and report on outcomes. The organization, program or project must align with Feed It Forward’s stated focus areas.

What’s required of grant recipients?

Each organization that receives a grant from the Feed It Forward program will be featured in a combination of print, digital and social advertising as part of the program. Thus, an on-site interview session will be scheduled that shall include still and video photography, as well as interviews of key organization members and/or participants in the organization’s programs as applicable. Signed releases from all participants and animal and facility owners will be required as well.

How often can you apply?

We accept one proposal per group per application cycle. Application cycles close on June 30 and December 31 each year. Grant payments are available as a one-time, single-payout payment. Goods and services are not available as payment methods.
